Ammonia source for a fishless cycle in a new freshwater or marine aquarium. QuikCycl feeds the nitrifying bacteria. It does not cycle a tank by itself.

Fishless cycle only. Contains ammonia. Do not add it to a tank that already has fish, plants, or invertebrates. Add livestock only after the cycle is finished.

A marine or brackish tank needs the live bacteria as well. Use it with MicroBacter Start XLM. Freshwater tanks use Brightwell MicroBacter Start XLF, which is not listed in this shop. Do not substitute a dry bacteria product.

After the tank is cycled, MicroBacter7 is a reasonable ongoing bioculture. It is not the bacteria Brightwell pairs with QuikCycl for the cycle itself.

Dose: on day one, 4 drops per US gallon, or 1 ml per 5 US gallons. Test total ammonia. The target is 1–2 ppm. Do not keep adding more because the reading falls. The bacteria are using the ammonia, so a lower test is not a reason to top it up.

You will need test kits for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH. Dechlorinate the water first. Turn the skimmer and UV off, and remove fine filter socks, until cycling is complete. The cycle is finished only when ammonia and nitrite read zero and nitrate is present. Do a partial water change before you add livestock, and add them slowly.

Keep out of reach of children. Not for human consumption.
