Deltec UV Steriliser
German-engineered T5 UV-C sterilisation for reef and marine systems. Compact, high-output units that use quartz lamps and quartz sleeves so almost all of the UV-C actually reaches the water — roughly twice the effective output of a conventional glass-bulb steriliser of the same wattage.
UV-C disrupts the DNA of free-floating bacteria, viruses, protozoa and algae as water passes the lamp. That means clearer water, fewer bacterial blooms, and a useful extra layer of protection against waterborne parasites. Beneficial bacteria living on rock and sand are not affected.
Why Deltec
- High-efficiency T5 quartz lamp + quartz sleeve (high UV-C transmission)
- Electronic ballast — stable output, flicker-free, lamp life around 9,000 hours
- Designed intensity around 30,000–33,000 µW/sec/cm² at recommended flow
- IP67-rated body — can sit partially submerged in the sump
- Compact footprint compared with traditional UV units of similar power
- Viton seals and UV-stable housing for saltwater use
- LED ballast/lamp status indicator
Choose your model
UV481 – 48W
Best compact option. Same length class as many 20W units, with far higher output.
- Power: 48W
- Max flow: 2,000 L/h
- Typical tank size: ~1,250–2,500 L depending on stocking and goal (clarity vs parasite dose)
- Dimensions: approx. 520–530 × 85 × 150–160 mm
UV801 – 80W
Higher capacity for larger systems or heavier bioload.
- Power: 80W
- Max flow: ~3,000–3,600 L/h
- Typical tank size: ~1,800–3,600 L depending on stocking and goal
- Dimensions: approx. 920–930 × 85 × 160 mm
Sizing note
Manufacturer figures assume the listed max flow. For algae/clarity you can run toward the higher flow. For parasite control (e.g. free-swimming ich/velvet stages) slow the flow so contact time increases. UV only treats what passes through the chamber — it does not replace quarantine, good husbandry or treatment of parasites already on fish or substrate.
Install vertically. Keep the ballast dry. Replace the lamp on schedule even if it still glows — UVC output drops well before the visible light fails.
Suitable for marine and freshwater. Hose connections typically 16 mm ID / 22 mm OD on these sizes (confirm on the unit).
